Section 29:657 - Disaster emergency services; injuries sustained; benefitsA. If a member of the civil air patrol is injured by accident or contracts a disease or illness while in the course of providing services or assistance during an official mission or emergency preparedness exercise and training pursuant to R.S. 29:721 through 736, the state shall provide or pay for the following: (1) Necessary medical, surgical, and hospital services and medicines incurred as a result of the injury, disease, or illness.(2) The repair or replacement of a prosthetic device which is damaged or destroyed in such an accident, including eyeglasses, artificial limbs, hearing aids, dentures, or any other prosthetic device.(3) Actual travel expenses reasonably and necessarily incurred in obtaining the services or devices described in Paragraph (1) or (2).B. The state shall have no other liability to the member for damages or other costs resulting from the injury, disease, or illness.Acts 1993, No. 861, §1; Acts 2004, No. 712, §1, eff.
