Section 17:2354.4 - Sale or purchase of parts prohibitedA. Except as otherwise provided in Subsection B of this Section, a person that for valuable consideration, knowingly purchases or sells a part for transplantation or therapy, if removal of the part is intended to occur after the death of the person, shall upon conviction be subject to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand dollars or imprisonment not exceeding five years with or without hard labor, or both.B. A person may charge a reasonable amount for the removal, processing, preservation, quality control, storage, transportation, implantation, or disposal of a part.C-K.
