Section 17:216 - Curriculum frameworkA. The commission shall develop a curriculum framework for establishing environmental education programs in all public and private elementary and secondary schools. The program shall integrate environmental concepts and skills into regular curricula, which include: (1) Basic ecological relationships including field experiences.(2) Issue investigation, analysis, evaluation, problem solving, prediction, and action skills that enable the student to understand concepts such as the interrelationships and interdependence of natural and human systems.(3) The values and behaviors of individuals, institutions, and nations regarding environmental problems.(4) Alternative responses to environmental issues and their consequences.B.
