Section 1559 - Surrender of parental rights to a terminally ill childA. A parent or guardian who refuses to consent to the medical care and treatment of his child as required by this Chapter may at any time execute a voluntary act of surrender pursuant to Title XI and place the child in the legal custody of the department or a licensed adoption agency.B. The department or agency shall immediately provide the treatment necessary for the child and shall make every effort to find an adoptive home for the child.Acts 1991, No. 235, §15, eff.
