Whenever the Unit determines that a dam or reservoir of an agency or public instrumentality is a hazard to the life and property of the citizens of the area in which it is located, it shall so notify the Executive Director of the Electric Power Authority. The Director in turn shall notify the Committee, which in consultation with the Management and Budget Office and the chief or director of the agency or instrumentality owner of the dam or reservoir shall adopt a plan of measures to be taken specifying the funds needed, if any, to carry them out. The Unit shall establish the time limit that the agency shall have to correct the pointed deficiencies. If the same are not corrected, within the fixed term, the Executive Director of the Electric Power Authority shall notify the noncompliance to the Secretary of Justice, for his/her evaluation and subsequent processing pursuant to the law. The Committee shall notify the Governor in writing on the situation.
