§ 7718c. Definitions

For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meaning stated below:

(a) Cadastral Certificate.— Means the document issued by CRIM, which certifies the cadastral status of a duly registered parcel or land lot.

(b) Committee.— Means the Advisory Liaison Committee.

(c) CRIM.— Means the Municipal Revenues Collection Center.

(d) Director.— Means the Director of the Puerto Rico Surveyor’s Office.

(e) Executive Director.— Means the Executive Director of the Permit Management Office.

(f) Government entities concerned.— Means collectively, without being construed as a limitation, the Planning Board; the Permit Management Office, the Municipal Revenues Collection Center, the Department of the Treasury, the Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics, the Environmental Quality Board; the Public Service Commission; the Electric Power Authority; the Highways and Transportation Authority; the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority; the Telecommunications Regulatory Board; the Department of Transportation and Public Works; the Trade and Export Company; the Industrial Development Company; the Tourism Company; the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture; the Department of Agriculture; the Department of Health; the Firefighters Corps; the Puerto Rico Police Department; the Department of Housing; the Sports and Recreation Department; the Solid Waste Authority; the Department of Education; the Ports Authority; the Commonwealth Historic Preservation Office; and the Administration of Energy Affairs, as well as any other agency or instrumentality as defined in §§ 9001 et seq. of this title; all municipalities and any other directly or indirectly related to the data collection process provided in this chapter.

(g) Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC).— Is the federal body established by the Office of Management and Budget to coordinate the design of plans and maps as well as activities related to geographic or geospatial information.

(h) Geographic or Geospatial information.— Means information that identifies the geographic locations, boundaries, and characteristics of natural or constructed features on the Earth. Such information may be derived from mapping, topography, or remote sensing. It may also include statistical data.

(i) Map.— Means the Puerto Rico Multi-purpose Multi-scale Map.

(j) National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).— Means the total ensemble of geographic information that describes the arrangement and attributes of features and phenomena on the earth as well as the materials, technology, and people necessary to acquire, process, store, and distribute such information to meet a wide variety of needs.

(k) Office.— Means the Puerto Rico Surveyor’s Office.

(l) Permit Management Office or the OGPe.— Means the entity created by virtue of §§ 9001 et seq. of this title.

(m) Municipal Permits Office.— Means the permits office established by municipalities for the transfer of powers of the Planning Board and the Permit Management Office, pursuant to the provisions of §§ 4001 et seq. of Title 21.

(n) Authorized professionals.— Means the individuals defined in § 9017 of this title, in charge of evaluating and issuing permits.

(o) Registry.— Means the Property Registry of Puerto Rico as established by §§ 2001 et seq. of Title 30.

(p) SPCS.— Means the State Plane Coordinate System.

(q) CPRGIS.— Means the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Geospatial Information System.
