§ 2305. Lien

The judicial claim for damage caused by a ship as provided in §§ 2303, 2304, 2504 and 2513 of this title shall constitute a lien on the ship. The action for the lien shall expire after the lapse of one (1) year from and after the date in which the injured party had knowledge of the damage. This lien shall have the same preference as determined by the laws and statutes of the United States on the same matter.
