§ 190r. Pellejas Sugar Mill

(a) The former Pellejas Mill in the Municipality of Adjuntas is hereby declared a place of historic value, worthy of preservation so that future generations of Puerto Ricans may learn from these silent witnesses of the history of our people.

(b) The Planning Board shall include the Pellejas Mill of the Municipality of Adjuntas in the Puerto Rico Historic Sites and Zones Register.

(c) The Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, by virtue of its duty to establish public policy related to our Island’s culture, shall keep custody, guard, restore, and conserve personal and real property and other valuable items in the Pellejas Mill for the better understanding of our historic and cultural patrimony, and shall devise a maintenance and conservation plan with respect thereto. Likewise, it shall be required to recover, restore, and conserve all historical documents related to the Pellejas Mill in the Municipality of Adjuntas in accordance with the provisions of §§ 1195 et seq. of Title 18.
