§ 225i. Surveillance

As soon as the declaration of a “floodable zone” becomes final, the Board shall notify the Department of Housing, the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources and the Permit Management Office thereof. The Permit Management Office shall be responsible for the surveillance of “floodable zones” throughout Puerto Rico. The Department of Natural and Environmental Resources shall collaborate with the Permit Management Office in the surveillance of the floodable zones located in the coastal zone and the Department of Housing in the surveillance of areas outside the coastal zone. Said government agencies are hereby empowered to appoint, chargeable to its operating budget funds, the inspectors and rangers for said zones for the purpose of averting violations of the provisions of this chapter.
