The following phrases or terms, as used in this chapter, shall have the meanings hereinafter set forth, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
(1) Facility.— Shall mean the radio-astronomy facility located at the site hereinbelow referred to.
(2) Site.— Shall mean the location of the radio-astronomy facility situated in the Barrio Esperanza of the Municipality of Arecibo, the center of which lies at latitude 18° 20′ 47′′ (eighteen degrees, twenty minutes and forty-seven seconds) and longitude 66° 45′ 12′′ (sixty-six degrees, forty-five minutes and twelve seconds), or approximately ten (10) miles south of the city of Arecibo and sixteen (16) miles east of San Sebastian.
(3) Official in charge.— Shall mean the official in charge of the radio-astronomy facility or his delegate under proper authority.
(4) Electrical equipment.— Shall mean any machinery, mechanism, instrument, device or any other facility capable of producing electromagnetic emissions which may damage or interfere with the operation or investigations at the Center such as, among others: (a) AM, FM, or TV transmitters or repeaters or both, (b) commercial communications transmitters, repeaters or both, (c) arc welding, (d) high voltage transmission or distribution power lines, (e) radio control devices, (f) defective household appliances, (g) diathermic machines, (h) neon signs, (i) high power arc lights; (j) electric motors and generators with brushes, (k) high power microwave industrial equipment and (l) industrial electric controls with electromagnetic wave radiation.
(5) Commonwealth.— Shall mean the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
