§ 1633. Family expenses disability insurance

Family expenses disability insurance, is that provided under a policy issued to an insured member of the family, who will be deemed as the policyholder, covering any two or more eligible members of a family, including husband, wife, dependent children or any children of a specified age which shall not exceed nineteen years, and any other person dependent upon the policy holder; Provided, That the term “children” includes foster children. For the purposes of this section, “foster children” shall be minor children that, although they are not natural or adopted children of the insured principal, have lived since infancy under the same roof with the latter, in a normal parent/child relationship and that are, and shall continue to be, totally dependent on the family of said insured to receive support, as this term is defined in § 561 of Title 31. Any authorized disability insurer may issue family expenses disability insurance.
