§ 1074. Bearing arms

Any member of the Corps who has passed the training in the use and handling of firearms given at the Police Academy of Puerto Rico, can have, possess, bear, transport and convey whichever regulation weapon is assigned to him/her by the Commissioner. This determination shall be made in all cases upon prior authorization of the Commonwealth Police Superintendent.

The authorization to bear the regulation weapons by the Municipal Police members issued by the Puerto Rico Police Superintendent, shall contain an express statement that the weapons may be borne in any place within the jurisdictional limits of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

None of the provisions of this chapter shall be understood to authorize the members of the Municipal Police Corps per se to bear forbidden arms.
