To be entitled to the protection granted by §§ 193—193c of this title, the employee shall notify his employer within a reasonable time of his need to be absent from work to attend to a summons and, once he returns to work, he shall deliver the certificate established in § 193a of this title to his employer.
The employee shall notify his employer at least two (2) working days in advance of the day on which he shall be absent from his job. Notwithstanding the above, notice to the employer may be made within a shorter term if the employee is unable to comply with his obligation due to a delay in receiving the summons.
