All employees of any commercial or industrial establishment, enterprise or lucrative or nonlucrative business, including those operated by nonprofit associations or organizations and charitable institutions, not subject to the provisions of former § 2201 of Title 33, relative to the closing to the public, shall be entitled to one day of rest for every six (6) working days. For the purposes of §§ 295—299 of this title, one day of rest shall be understood as a period of twenty-four (24) consecutive hours.
