§ 10072. Purpose

The program created under this chapter seeks that health professionals provide voluntary services in the public schools of Puerto Rico, without direct monetary compensation and for the purpose of complementing the structure and regular resources existing in the public schools of the Island.

These health professionals shall provide teaching support services to teachers in public schools in subject areas such as health, sciences and others related to physical activity such as physical education, and shall also offer clinics and orientations on their field, of specialty as well as special courses that are complementary to the subjects taught regularly in public schools. Health professionals may likewise provide direct support services to injured students or to those diagnosed with any condition that requires some kind of attention by the health professionals covered under the provisions of this chapter.
