The Executive Director is hereby empowered to administer the car fleet of the agency. He/she shall be fully responsible for buying, maintaining and repairing the car fleet of the agency. He/she may also organize repair shops or contract with private shops for the maintenance and repair of the units in service and of all those acquired in the future. The Executive Director shall adopt the regulations that have been established for these purposes by the General Services Administration of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and shall be strictly governed by the fiscal norms of the Department of the Treasury.
The Medical Emergency Corps is hereby exempted from the provisions of §§ 931 et seq. of Title 3, the General Services Administration Organic Act, in matters relative to procurement procedures, subject to the development and implementation of the corresponding regulations and procedures.
