Every insurer shall be barred from requiring the purveyor of services or the insured patient to obtain a certificate, when in the judgment of the physician, a longer period of hospitalization than what is provided in this chapter is required.
Therefore, no insurer may refuse to select, cancel services, require additional documentation, increase payments, reduce reimbursements, or perform any act that is contrary to the economic interests of the insured or the attending purveyors because they have complied with the provisions of this chapter.
