§ 446. Shop for tuberculosis patients—Personnel from convalescing patients

The operatives of this shop shall be selected by the Secretary of Health, or his representatives whom he may delegate, from among patients who have been discharged from the tuberculosis hospitals, and those who are under treatment in antituberculosis centers; Provided, That such patients shall have a negative sputum and have been classified as arrested cases according to the classification established by the National Tuberculosis Association of the United States and universally accepted; and, Provided, further, That only such patients as are not hospitalized shall be able to work in this shop, and whenever there may be a position or office in the administration of said shop, which can be discharged by a convalescing patient, no other person shall be employed.
