(a) Clinical laboratories are hereby directed to calculate the glomerular filtration rate when examining seric creatinine concentration for the early detection of kidney disease; the results thereof shall be remitted to the physician who ordered the test, and that a report of said results shall be remitted on a monthly basis to the Department of Health and to the Puerto Rico Renal Council.
(b) The Department of Health shall design the forms to be used by laboratories to gather the data required by this section, and shall notify them the manner in which the same shall be completed.
(c) The Department of Health together with the Medical Science Campus and the Puerto Rico College of Medical Technologists shall establish the standard criteria for seric creatinine tests and the information to be included in the forms to be remitted.
