§ 2607. Oath

(a) Before fulfilling their respective duties, law officers, members of general and special courts-martial, trial counsel, assistant trial counsel, defense counsel, assistant defense counsel, court reporters and interpreters shall take an oath to perform their duties faithfully. The form of oath, time and place for the taking of same, manner of recording same, and whether the oath is to be taken in all cases in which such functions are to be performed or just in a special case, shall be as the Governor may prescribe by regulations. These regulations may provide that an oath to faithfully perform the duties as law officer, trial officer, assistant trial officer, defense counsel or assistant defense counsel, may be taken at any time by any judge advocate or other person certified as qualified or competent for the post, and such oath if administered shall not be necessary to be administered again when the judge advocate or said other person is detailed for the post.

(b) Each witness before a court-martial shall be examined on oath.
