§ 1918. Recording of 9-1-1 service calls

The tracking, caller identification, and recording of all calls made to the 9-1-1 Service are hereby expressly authorized in order to promptly and efficiently address the emergencies of the citizens of Puerto Rico. Such recordings shall be used for any legitimate purpose consistent with the laws in effect, and shall be admissible evidence in any court for any civil or criminal proceeding. The Board shall establish the technical mechanisms needed to implement the provisions of this section.

Making a 9-1-1 call shall constitute and be understood as a waiver and express consent from the caller to the tracking, caller identification, and recording of such call, and to the use thereof to efficiently respond to the emergency that prompted said call and to fulfill the purpose of sound 9-1-1 Service operations.
