(a) The Board or the Sub-board shall hold revalidation examination sessions at least in January and August of each year, without prejudice to holding any other additional sessions for such purposes as the Board or the Sub-board deems convenient. The revalidation examinations shall be offered in English or in Spanish, at the option of the examinee previously stated on the official application for the revalidation examination. The details regarding the revalidation examination sessions shall be announced through edicts published on two (2) occasions in two (2) newspapers of the greatest general circulation, at least six (6) weeks in advance of the deadline for filing the application of each session.
(b) The Board or the Sub-board shall notify each examinee of the result obtained in their examinations within sixty (60) days following the close of the revalidation examination session.
(c) The Board and the Sub-board shall adopt rules to guarantee the right of the applicants who fail their examination to examine their answer sheets, not to be understood as their examination; to receive a breakdown of their score; and to request a reconsideration of their scores.
Everyone who fails shall be granted a term of ninety (90) days from the date of notice of the result of the examination to file any allegations on their own behalf regarding their examination scores.
The examinations may be destroyed after ninety (90) days of [sic] the deadline to request the right to review.
(d) The Board shall notify the Puerto Rico School of Veterinary Medicine, the names of the candidates who [have passed] the revalidation examination, as well as any other pertinent information so that these persons can comply with the provisions of §§ 2971 et seq. of this title.
(e) The Board or the Sub-board shall keep a record of all the pertinent information in their registers and shall remit a certificate of registry to each new licensee.
(f) The Board or the Sub-board may obtain the advice of expert professionals on the techniques for the preparation of examinations of this nature to ensure the validity of their content as instruments for measuring knowledge and skills.
(g) Any person who fails the revalidation examination on three (3) occasions shall not submit to a new examination until having submitted to the Board or to the Sub-board satisfactory evidence and proof of having taken and [passed] the pertinent remedial course or courses after their specific situation has been reviewed by the Board or the Sub-Board.
Once the person has taken and [passed] the required remedial course or courses, he/she shall only be allowed to take the revalidation examination on two (2) additional occasions.
The remedial courses required in this chapter may be taken by the applicants in question, in any accredited school of veterinary medicine or veterinary technology, pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
(h) The revalidation examinations before the Board shall consist of written examinations designed to measure knowledge on the laws and regulations as well as the conditions of veterinary medicine existing in the Commonwealth, as determined by the Board through of regulations; and may also include a practical examination.
(i) The revalidation examinations before the Board shall consist of a basic theory part and a practical part of the disciplines and basic sciences of veterinary technology, as determined by the Sub-board, to verify the competence of the applicant.
