Any person who practices the profession of massage therapist without the corresponding license, or who employs another person who does not hold a license for such practice shall incur a misdemeanor and shall be sanctioned with imprisonment for a term that shall not exceed six (6) months, or a fine that shall not exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000), or both penalties, at the discretion of the court.
The Department of Health shall suspend the license of any massage business that hires a person that does not have the corresponding license after being sentenced, for a term of one (1) year; and if said business is a recidivist, it shall permanently lose the right to practice the profession in Puerto Rico.
