§ 471e. Members—Term of office

The members of the first Board will serve in office in the following manner: three (3) for two (2) years, two (2) for three (3) years and two (2) for four (4) years. Upon the expiration of each member’s term, the Governor of Puerto Rico shall appoint their successors for a term of four (4) years with the advice and consent of the Senate. Each member of the Board will remain in office until the expiration of his term or until a successor has been appointed and takes office.

The vacancies that occur in the Board will be filled in the same way in which the original appointments were made. The term of any member who fills a vacancy shall extend for the remainder of his predecessor’s term.

No person may be a member of the Board for more than two (2) consecutive terms.
