Any person who practices the profession of geologist in Puerto Rico without being duly authorized, as provided herein, or who uses or tries to use the license or seal of a licensed geologist as if it were his/her own, or who files before the Board or before any of its members, false or evidence which is altered in any way in order to obtain a license or certificate, or for its renovation or reactivation; or who represents to be a registered professional or advertises as such without having complied with the provisions of this chapter; or who violates any of the provisions of this chapter and its regulations, shall incur a felony, and upon conviction shall be punished with a fine which shall not be less than three hundred dollars ($300) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500), or imprisonment that shall not exceed six (6) months, or both penalties at the discretion of the court. If the person convicted is a professional of geology, the court shall notify such conviction to the Board along with a copy of the judgment.
The Board may recur to the courts of Puerto Rico or to the courts of the United States of America represented by the Secretary of Justice or by the legal counsel of the Board, or by a private attorney contracted to such effects to request execution of an order issued by the Board or to request any remedy requested by the Board through any civil action.
