(a) The Board shall issue, suspend, revoke or deny the licenses to practice the profession of respiratory care technician, for the reasons consigned in this chapter.
(b) Within the term of six (6) months after the date of approval of this act, it shall adopt regulations pursuant to the provisions of §§ 2101 et seq. of Title 3 that shall include the provisions needed for compliance with its duties and the rules of procedure that it deems convenient for the handling of its business.
(c) It shall keep a book of the minutes of all its proceedings and shall note its resolutions and actions in appropriate books.
(d) It shall maintain a professional register that will include a true and exact list of the persons authorized to practice the profession of respiratory care technician in Puerto Rico, their license number, and work and residential addresses. It shall also keep a record of licenses granted, denied, provisionally suspended, permanently revoked, and provisional licenses.
(e) It shall adopt an official seal for the processing of all licenses and other documents issued by the Board.
(f) It may take oaths, hear testimony and admit evidence related to matters under its cognizance.
(g) It may issue summons requiring the presence of witnesses and the presentation of data, documents and reports deemed necessary by the Board. If the summons issued by the Board is not duly complied with, the Board may appear before any part of the Court of First Instance of Puerto Rico and request the court to order its compliance, subject to contempt of court.
(h) It shall render an annual report of its work to the Governor, through the Secretary of Health, accounting for the number of licenses issued, cancelled or renewed.
