§ 3302. Definitions

The following terms shall have the meaning expressed below:

(a) Accrediting board. — Means the Puerto Rico Actors Accrediting Board.

(b) Board of Directors. — Means the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Actors Association.

(c) Association. — Means the Puerto Rico Actors Association.

(d) Actor. — Means an artist who through techniques in the performing arts uses his/her body or oral language to interpret a learned or improvised text in any of the dramatic genres, regardless of the place of work, to wit, theaters, dinner theaters, the radio, television, the cinema, hotels, restaurants, parks, coliseums, open air theaters, or any other place or stage, and who receives financial compensation for services rendered that meet the requirements established in subsections (a) or (b) of § 3305 of this title and who is certified as such by the Accrediting Board and complies with the remaining provisions of this chapter.

(e) Recognized artistic production company. — Means any non-profit or profit-making group, individual, society, association or corporation that devotes itself to the production of any performing medium in those work places listed in subsection (d) of this section and which is or is not registered with the Department of State.

(f) Producer. — Means a person or persons who organize an artistic production and/or contribute capital for its realization.

(g) Nonresident actor. — Means an actor who does not reside in Puerto Rico authorized by the Actors Accrediting Board, the Puerto Rico Actors Association and other laws applicable in Puerto Rico to work during the period of time provided by subsection (a) of § 3306 of this title.

(h) Temporary permit. — Means the permit granted by the Puerto Rico Actors Association to a person who meets the requirements established in subsection (a) of § 3306 of this title.
