§ 407. Self-incrimination of witnesses

No person may refuse to appear as witness for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in any civil or criminal action instituted in compliance with the provisions of §§ 241 et seq. of this title under the pretext that his deposition might incriminate him, but the deposition thus made shall not be used against him in any proceeding or action, except such civil actions as may arise from the provisions of §§ 241 et seq. of this title or of any statute regulating land tenure.
