§ 48. Acquisition of property from United States

Whenever in his judgment it may be expedient and necessary to the best interests of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Governor of Puerto Rico is hereby empowered to acquire, in the name and on behalf of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, by donation, exchange, or otherwise, any right or interest in or any title to any property of any nature owned by the Government of the United States of America or any of the agencies, instrumentalities, or political divisions thereof.
