§ 5017. Preservation of the Joyuda Lagoon—Duties of the Secretary; legislation and programs

The Secretary may apply any present and future legislation on the preservation, conservation, administration, and management of natural resources and the environment of Puerto Rico. He is also authorized to coordinate everything related to the legislation of Puerto Rico and/or the United States of America, to achieve the purposes of §§ 5015–5018 of this title. Likewise, he is hereby authorized to enter into agreements and work programs with foreign countries, public and private organizations, and foreign and local individuals that will help to achieve the purposes of the public policy of Puerto Rico regarding natural resources and the environment. Therefore, he may receive, on behalf of the Government of Puerto Rico, such funds, services, or any other type of help or assistance in matters related to this legislation.
