§ 1335a. Environmental Quality Board

The Environmental Quality Board shall:

(1) Classify the used oil as a special waste and regulate its management in Puerto Rico, developing the requirements deemed necessary to protect the environment and the public health.

(2) Adopt, within the first six months after the approval of this act, the federal standards for the management of used oil, as a minimum.

(3) Promulgate regulations requiring that the records deemed necessary for the control of the disposal, burning, recycling or refining of used oil in Puerto Rico are kept. Said regulations shall be in harmony with the applicable federal regulations and drafted on or before six (6) months from the approval of this act.
