§ 1324d. Purpose

To provide that in every new public or private housing complex, apartment and/or residence, construction project that is begun or developed after July 1, 2003, an area for recyclable material be designated, so that companies engaged in the transportation of this material to the processing and/or storage facilities, may collect them in the designated areas.

Different containers shall be placed in these areas which shall be provided by the company contracted for the service of collecting and transporting the recyclable materials, in which the residents of the housing complex shall place said materials, selectively, in each container, as they are identified according to the material to be recycled. Among the materials to be recycled, without limiting the recovery to them, are: glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and aluminum, unless there is a legal prohibition for the recovery of certain material by these means, such as used oil and discarded tires among others.
