Aquaculture shall be encouraged, developed and managed by the Department of Agriculture of the Government of Puerto Rico.
The Department of Natural and Environmental Resources can require permits and endorsements as needed to regulate aquacultural activities which could have an impact on aquatic environments. After having been issued the pertinent permits, aquaculturists may make exclusive and sole use of the fishes thus farmed.
