Any public servant who must take any official action that is contrary to the prohibitions established by §§ 1857a, 1857b and 1857c of this title shall report it to the Office before taking such action. In his/her statement, the public servant may request to be relieved from intervening in such matter or participating in the agency's deliberations related to the official action.
The public servant shall deliver a copy of the statement filed with the Office to the appointing authority of his/her agency.
Once the situation is assessed, the Office shall notify the public servant and the appointing authority that there are no conflicts of interest, or, should there be, that the option to disqualify himself/herself is available.
