The administrative direction of the Historical Archive shall be the responsibility of an Executive Director, who shall be appointed by consensus between the Presiding Officers of both Legislative Houses, and discharge such office for a term of ten (10) years. The person to be designated as the Executive Director shall have sound knowledge of the operations of the Legislative Assembly, as well as graduate studies in History, the Humanities, Social Science, Political Science, or Library Science, or related fields, or in default thereof, a combination of studies and four (4) years of combined experience in such areas. Likewise, he/she may meet studies and experience requirements if he/she has published works to his/her credit pertaining to the legislative endeavor or held administrative or legislative offices in the Legislative Assembly. The Director shall earn the salary established by the Presiding Officers of the Legislative Houses. The Director of the Office of Legislative Services, in coordination with the Office of the Superintendent of the Capitol, shall provide the Executive Director with the physical space to meet the purposes of §§ 1014—1023 of this title and provide human resources in addition to those in existence, as necessary for compliance with §§ 1014—1023 of this title.
