§ 827a. Retired physicians—Employment

The hiring of any physician who has been pensioned for compulsory retirement due to his age or years of service, by any pension or retirement system of the Government of Puerto Rico or any of its instrumentalities, or any retirement or pension fund created under the laws of Puerto Rico, to work in public medicine in the Government of the Commonwealth or any of its instrumentalities or corporations and municipalities, is hereby authorized after confirming that his physical and mental condition will allow him to carry out his work, under the following conditions:

As a special part-time employee who in time worked and compensation does not exceed three-fourths of the maximum salary that he would be entitled to if he were employed full time in the job. Said employee can additionally receive the pension he is entitled to.
