The Governor shall appoint an Advisory Council composed of nine (9) members to advise the Office of the Disabled Persons Investigating Official with regard to the implementation of this chapter. This Council shall be composed of the Disabled Persons Investigating Official, who shall be its ex officio chairman, one representative of the disabled persons, one representative of the parents of disabled children, one legal counselor with expertise in the field of disabled persons’ rights, one vocational rehabilitation professional, one special education professional, one health professional and two (2) persons committed to comply with the principles expressed in this chapter.
When this act becomes effective, three (3) council members shall be appointed for a term of four (4) years, three (3) members for a term of three (3) years, and two (2) members for a term of two (2) years. Upon expiration of these initial terms the appointments shall be made for 4-year terms.
The Council shall meet as often as it is called by the Investigating Official, but never less than four (4) times a year. Quorum shall be constituted by more than half of its members.
