For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meaning stated below:
(a) Public agency or entity.— Shall mean any department, board, commission, office, division, bureau, public corporation, quasi-public or public-private corporation or subsidiary thereof, or instrumentality of the Government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, including its municipalities and corporations, and any officer or employee thereof in the performance of his/her official duties.
(b) Private entity.— Shall mean any association, partnership, federation, institute, entity, incorporated or not incorporated, for profit or nonprofit private corporations, guilds or any natural or juridical person.
(c) Office.— Means the Office of the Disabled Persons Investigating Official created by § 532b of this title with the purpose and responsibility of conducting a program for the protection and advocacy of the rights of persons with disabilities.
(d) Persons with disabilities.— Means every person who has a physical, mental or sensory disability that substantially limits one or more of the essential activities of his/her life; who has a medical history or record of a physical, mental or sensory disability; or is deemed to have a physical, mental or sensory disability.
(e) Investigating official.— Means the director or chief executive officer of the Office of the Disabled Persons Investigating Official, appointed pursuant to § 532b-1 of this title, who is charged with its implementation.
