§ 252. Debts pending payment—How same are to be paid

Any person in whose name a check has been issued by the Secretary of the Treasury of Puerto Rico, or by any special payer, or the legitimate holder of said check, whose value has been cancelled and returned to its original fund pursuant to the provisions of the Political Code, shall be entitled to cash it in the manner established for authorized and paid claims against the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as long as said check is presented to the Secretary of the Treasury de [sic] Puerto Rico, along with incontrovertible evidence of the ownership of said check.

When the check intended for cashing is not presented along with the claim, such omission must be justified with satisfactory evidence.
