The following persons may apply for enrollment in the life and insured years of service insurance:
(a) Persons who, after having received the benefits for insured years of service insurance, are reinstated in the public service.
(b) Persons who, after the effective date of this act, leave the public service without being covered by the insured years of service insurance for failing to contribute a sufficient number of years in order to avail themselves of the benefits thereof.
The insured years of service previously rendered by the insured shall be considered when computing the total of years which he/she has contributed to the insurance once he/she has decided to retire anew from the public service.
An insured member who retires from public service and receives the benefits of the insured years of service insurance may continue to be covered by the life insurance, provided he/she pays the corresponding premiums to the Association.
