§ 4901. False statements or allegations regarding a crime

Any person who knowingly makes a false statement or allegation that a crime has been committed by means of a claim, request, information, strict confidences, regardless of whether same is anonymous or under a false name, directed to persons or officers with legal authority to conduct criminal investigations, thus causing the initiation of an investigation to clarify such false statement or allegation shall incur a misdemeanor.
