§ 4817. Intrusion of personal tranquility

Any person who, by means of the telephone, electronic mail, or any other means proffers or writes a language that is threatening, abusive, obscene or lewd to another person; or who with the purpose of bothering a person repeatedly makes telephone calls or causes the telephone of another to ring repeatedly, or any person who knowingly authorizes any telephone under his control to be used for any purpose prohibited under this section shall incur a misdemeanor.
