§ 2607. Nearest relative excludes more remote; relatives in same degree

In inheritances the relative nearest in degree excludes the most remote excepting the right of representation in proper cases.

Relatives who are in the same degree shall inherit in equal shares, with the exception of what is provided in § 2674 of this title with regard to whole blood relationship.
