§ 2482. Legacy of credit against third person or release of legatee’s debt—When void; pledge

The legacy referred to in the foregoing section is void if the testator, after having made it, should sue the debtor for the payment of his debt, even if said payment should not have been made at the time of the death.

Only the right of pledge is waived by the legacy made to the debtor of a thing pledged.
