§ 2399. Payment when not granted in specified thing

If the advantage or extra portion should not have been granted in a specified thing it shall be paid out of the property of the inheritance, there being observed, insofar as possible, the rules established by §§ 2880 and 2881 of this title, in order to procure equality of the heirs in the distribution of the property.
