§ 159. Nature of provisional possession; security

Provisional possession is only a deposit investing those who obtain it with the administration of the estate of the absentee, to whom they are liable in case he appears or is heard from.

The security given by those who are placed in provisional possession of the property of the absentee shall not exceed the probable value of the injury or damage which their maladministration may cause.
