§ 1924. Certificates of payment or release of lien

Certificates of payment or release of the lien, issued by the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States or his delegate, shall be presented in the same registry where the corresponding lien was registered, and the registrar shall cancel same, by a note in the corresponding blank space where registration of the lien appears, stating its cancellation date. Said certificate shall be filed in a record in the registry. Notices of liens filed, as well as the corresponding certificates of payment or release, may be destroyed after the lapse of one year from the date of cancellation.
