Neither all nor part of the time to be deducted according to the provisions of §§ 1039-1041 of this title shall be deducted from two or more prison terms at the same time, that is, concurrently. If, after covering a prison term by deducting part of the time that a person may have been deprived of his liberty, as provided in the foregoing sections, any portion of said time is left, the excess shall be deducted from the prison term which said person must serve under another consecutive sentence, and so forth, as the case may be.
