§ 1655. Rate of interest

Interest on loans may be agreed upon within the limitations established by law. Bottomry and respondentia contracts are excepted from this provision. In such contracts there shall be no limitation as regards interest.

Any charge agreed upon in favor of the creditor shall be considered as interest.
