§ 1589. When contract between merchants and employees is made for a fixed period

If the contracts between merchants and their shop clerks and employees should have been made for a fixed period, none of the contracting parties may discontinue the performance of the obligations assumed without the consent of the other, until the termination of the period agreed upon.

Persons violating this clause shall be subject to indemnify the loss and damage suffered, except in the cases provided for in the following sections.
